The How: Three days on, Four days off. I worked Sunday, flew from EWR to FLL early Monday morning. The cruise was from Monday to Thursday. I flew home Thursday evening and made it in time for work Friday morning!

All you can drink! – definitely worth it.
Norwegian cruise line is a great cruise line. I used to think cruises wouldn’t be possible since most are Saturday – Saturday. Norwegian actually has a lot of weekend cruises and short weekday cruises, that could absolutely work with a nurse’s schedule. I did this quick trip using ZERO PTO. One my my co workers was also on this trip with me.
NOTE: I did get travel insurance for this trip. Mostly because of possibly flight delays and cancellations because of the weather. There was no room for flight cancels or delays to work.
Review: We had an upgrade to a balcony suite via NCL upsell. It was $75.00 per person… nice sized room. Better than the original inner room that we had booked. I wouldn’t have paid more than that.
There was just enough stuff on the boat for 3 nights. Two buffets, two included a la Carte dining. 4 speciality extra charge restaurants. We didn’t do any speciality restaurants. The food was okay. Desserts at the a la Carte we’re good. The coffee bar had nice strong coffee, but also an extra charge. The gift shop had different sales every day. We went home with two bottles for white hennessey for 42.00 dollars each. It’s 60.00 in Jamaica, and 50.00 in Cancun, so that was a great price.
The shows were pretty good. The comedian was hysterical!
